Our lead coaches come with the most experience working with kids and sharing the stoke of getting more people on bikes. Their skillset is the perfect mix of experience, professional training, and ability to connect with each individual's needs. Whether you need help progressing your kid to a pedal bike for the first time, have a specific skill or fear to overcome, or want the most out of your crew RIDE, one of our lead coaches can take you there!
Become a Ride Mentor
Our RIDE Mentorship program is designed to give kids an opportunity to stay involved with Vail Valley RIDE as they age out of the camp RIDEs. Committing to being a RIDE mentor provides the experience needed to learn how to earn a spot as a Vail Valley RIDE COACH.
Our RIDE Mentorship program is also a way for community members to stay connected in a fun and impactful way!
As a RIDE mentor, you are a role model, a friend, and a cheerleader for the camp RIDE kids. You have enthusiasm for the sport and are stoked to share it with others. A RIDE mentor is responsible, coachable, positive, kind, and a good listener. You don't have to be a SENDER, but you MUST love to RIDE!
The ages of RIDE mentors are anywhere from 12 to 16 years old, based on experience within the Vail Valley RIDE program. Being a RIDE mentor does not guarantee a COACH position. Kids start as a RIDE mentor and will assist a COACH until they are ready to co-lead a camp RIDE and then lead a camp RIDE with COACH supervision. After they've become proficient and confident in the skills and training needed to lead a group on their own, a RIDE mentor can sub for a COACH. Once a COACH position is open, they may apply.
